Hippocrates is known by many to be the father of medicine. He believed that the foods we consume have a direct and profound impact on our health and overall well-being. One of the quotes he is most recognized for is “Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.” As a supporter of this concept, I spend much of my spare time reading books, watching documentaries, and seeking knowledge and understanding of how the foods we eat (more specifically the nutrients we absorb) impact the way we feel.
I was recently informed of a free online educational event taking place April 29-May 7 called the Food Revolution Summit. Because this topic is so near and dear to my heart, I wanted to spread the word on my blog in hopes that others will take advantage of this opportunity. The Food Revolution Summit is hosted by John and Ocean Robbins (you may recognize their last name from the popular Baskin-Robbins ice cream franchise) and features 24 of the world’s top food experts (including Dr Michael Greger and Dr Joel Fuhrman who I previously discussed in my Three Wise Men post). Experts will broadcast live each day of the summit and these broadcasts will be on replay for 21 hours following their live presentation.
Topics that will be covered include:
- Eating to Thrive
- Preventing and Beating Cancer
- Is Your Food Safe?
- Optimal Weight for Radiant Health
- The End of Heart Disease
- Proven and Powerful Strategies for Health
- The Science of Healthy Eating
- Eating for Life
For a sneak peak at what is to come follow this link to watch 4 short videos which set the stage for the summit. If you choose to participate in the event, you can register by going to www.foodrevolutionsummit.org. Recognizing that due to time constraints or other obligations you might be limited on which broadcasts you can watch, I encourage you to look at the presentation schedule and pick the broadcasts and topics that interest you most and focusing your attention on those presentations.
I hope you’ve found this information helpful in your health journey and until next time, may you find health and happiness!
